Mamey Sapote Fruit Tree - The Mamey Sapote fruit tree is native to the tropical areas of Central America, Mexico, and parts of South America. It can grow up to 10 meters in height and is a large evergreen tree with an open habit. The leaves are shiny dark green and oblong shaped with pointed tips. The flowers are cream colored and sweetly scented. Fruits are round, brown and can weigh up to 1 kilogram. The flesh is sweet and creamy with a flavor similar to pumpkin pie. It has many health benefits including providing vitamins A, B, C & E, minerals like iron, calcium phosphorous & potassium as well as dietary fiber.
