Growing Plants Responsibly

Our Process, Improvements and Benefits We Constantly seek.
We mean green, we aim to improve our growing practices constantly by establishing innovative, environmentally friendly and durable practices, we do not use restricted use chemicals at any stage of the growing process, we utilize our own blend of potting mixes, an important part of this blend is achieved by utilizing specific tree trimming mulch, organic matter which undergoes a process of organic matter composting, this process not only reduces off site landfill excess but also decreases our overall water usage, increases soil moisture retention, and greatly improves soil richness and fertility for many years to come. We are energy efficient, we recycle and we work very hard protecting our environment.

Water Conservation
We save thousands of gallons of water every year by using potting mixes that are rich in organic matter through composting, Correct potting mixes allow our growers to drastically reduced our use of water and as byproduct excessive leaching of fertilizer runoff, allow the soil to retain the nutrients longer.

Irrigation Automation
Another way We conserve water is to constantly monitor water needs, plant growers monitor temperature and wind conditions daily in order to determine the most effective means of irrigating plants. Growers are trained to know how much water to use for specific plants base on climate conditions and weather patterns. We also use micro irrigation, also knows as drip systems to cut water use and manage diseases on certain crops. Micro-irrigation directs the water to the soil of the plant and prevents the wetting of the plant foliage, Correct irrigation process not only saves water, but also promotes healthy plant growth and reduces the incidence of plant disease such as fungal and bacterial infections, and greatly reduces the need for chemical applications.

Reduction of Pesticide use
The use of beneficial insects to manage pest, in addition to water conservation reduction or chemical use is achieved by using beneficial insects, depending on the seasons of the year some pest are known to be more active than others, by understanding insect behaviors and as a form of prevention we use beneficial insects, which add the necessary protection in order to prevent infestations which may require the use of chemicals to rid of the pest, By establishing environmentally and durable practices we are able to grow plants more responsibly. Another plus is the use of MYCORRHIZAE, which is a group of beneficial organism found in nature that grow along the roots of host plants, assisting in the process of making the plant much more efficient in the uptake of nutrients and water, creating healthier roots the way nature does, this naturally occurring organism during the composting process as well is responsible for the absorbing capacity of nutrients by as much as 100 times, Mycorrhizae can help reduce transplant shock, stress from drought, soil-borne diseases, reduce water usage and the reliance on fertilizers.

Recycling
We are constantly working and reviewing or methods to make sure we are using the most effective forms of recycling, our pots and shipping materials are source from recyclable sources and can be recycle again at some point during their journey to our clients, presently about 60 percent of our pots can easily be recycled through municipal recycling services, shipping materials are fully recycle products.
