Care Guide

PLANTING:

Select an area with full sun.
Dig a hole that is twice as wide and just as deep as the root ball.
Remove the tree from its container and loosen any roots that are tightly packed.
Place the tree in the hole and backfill with soil, making sure to eliminate any air pockets.
Water the tree well to settle the soil.

SOIL:

Prefers well-draining soil.
Suitable for clay, alkaline, and compacted soils, avoid wet and soggy.

MULCH:

Spread a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base of the plant to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Mulch with hardwood or cypress.

LIGHT:

Thrives in full sun.

WATER:

Water regularly during the first growing season.
Once established, water only during extended periods of drought.

FERTILIZE:

I was nervous and skeptical of purchasing trees via the internet that would need to be shipped from a different state. But I did it holding my breath because I could not find these trees anywhere near by and certainly not at this price point. Thankfully , the process was easy and experience was positive with Eureka. FedEx was not very good with their shipping care and obviously doesn't care enough to read the shipping instructions on the box. The box was a bit crunched up on one end and it was tossed on the porch upside down - just the opposite of the instructions on the box, but that's on FedEx. Luckily Eureka Farms did their jobs correctly and packed the trees with care so they survived FedEx's rough ride. All trees were between 2-3 feet and just as described. Yes, they appear small, but that's because 2-3 feet is relatively small, and yes, they are narrow, but given they are a narrow tree even when fully grown, they should be narrow. So they are true to the size described and arrived as expected. If you want bigger, buy bigger and expect to pay much more. For a 2-3 foot slow to moderate growing tree, Eureka's price for the 9 tree bundle can't be beat, at least not by any of them many vendors I researched before choosing Eureka. All 9 have been planted now for not quite 2 weeks, and all but 1 look vibrant and very healthy and look like they are going to thrive without any problem. 1 of the 9 seems a bit iffy. After about a week of being planted it started to get some brown spots on some limbs and a few more limbs have started to turn now. I'm guessing it's experiencing some shock from the shipping and replanting, so I am still hopeful it will be fine, and in the event it's not, I will call Eureka to see what can be done and don't anticipate any issues since so far it has gone well. Overall I recommend Eureka and the rocky mountain blue arrow junipers and look forward to watching them grow and become the privacy fence I'm hoping for in the next several years.

Terrible purchase, I ordered three of these shrubs and received starter limbs that do not even equivalent to 20% of a full shrub. I contacted the company immediately upon delivery and have yet to hear a response. I have emailed them several times left messages several times and still no one will call me or email me to start my return process. I am working with the BBB and payment processing company to get some kind of response so I can return these items. Very disappointed and in disbelief that a company can ghost a customer like this.

Pots shifted some inside the box, mashing the tops of 2 of the plants that slide down. Pots also seemed to be smashed but don't think that will affect them. Shipment took a couple days longer than expected but also don't think that will affect them. 3 of 4 the shape look pretty good but one doesn't look like the rest and hope it grows to look like the rest as they'll all be in a row. My first shipment from Eureka looked better, we'll see how these go.
