Care Guide

PLANTING:

Select an area with full sun.
Dig a hole that is twice as wide and just as deep as the root ball.
Remove the tree from its container and loosen any roots that are tightly packed.
Place the tree in the hole and backfill with soil, making sure to eliminate any air pockets.
Water the tree well to settle the soil.

SOIL:

Prefers well-draining soil.
Suitable for clay, alkaline, and compacted soils, avoid wet and soggy.

MULCH:

Spread a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base of the plant.
Mulch with hardwood or cypress.

LIGHT:

Thrives in full sun.

WATER:

Water regularly during the first growing season.
Increase frequency in extreme hot days.
Once established, water only during extended periods of drought.

FERTILIZE:

Fertilize during early spring with a slow-release fertilizer.

PRUNING:

Pruning is not necessary.
If left to grow naturally it may reach heights of up to 60 feet.

Love those Spartan trees! I ordered the 5-6ft ones. They arrived very well packaged and in great condition: no slipping in the box and no branch damage. Worth the mention after dealing with other companies online: there are NO staples on the box, which means... you won't be hurting yourself getting the plants out and breaking the box later on ;) The tree color is hard to picture properly, but it's a darker green at the base of the branches, fading to a lighter green on the tips, like a lime green. They have a nice "fluff" too. They grow up to 2 feet a year, so it's a big plus if you're trying to get a fast growing hedge. The customer service is very quick to answer, super efficient AND they shipped the trees in a just a few days too. It will be my go-to company for future trees for sure! Kudos to the team!
